Seasonal Detox: Why Ritucharya Matters More Than a New Year Cleanse

The logic of Ritu Sandhi
Doshas accumulate quietly in one season and become aggravated in the next. Kapha builds through winter and flares in spring. Pitta builds in summer and flares in the monsoon. Vata builds in the monsoon and flares in autumn.
Treating at the point of accumulation, in the two weeks around the change of season, prevents disease rather than chasing it. This is the entire premise of preventive Ayurvedic care.
Which procedure suits which season
A practical seasonal routine for Pune
Even without formal Panchkarma, a seasonal reset helps: a week of lighter, warm, freshly cooked food; earlier dinner; Abhyanga twice a week; Triphala at night; and a deliberate reduction in cold drinks, curd at night and packaged food. Most patients notice the difference in energy within ten days.
When to plan a full programme
If you have a chronic condition, plan your Panchkarma in the season matched to your Dosha. Book two to three weeks in advance so preparation days can be scheduled around your work.
