About Rakta Mokshan
Rakta Mokshan is the classical Ayurvedic procedure for purifying vitiated blood. In modern practice the most refined method is Jalaukavacharana — medicinal leech therapy — where sterile, single-use medicinal leeches are applied to a precisely marked area.
Leech saliva contains hirudin and other compounds with anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory and vasodilator action, which is why the therapy is so effective in varicose veins, non-healing ulcers, chronic eczema, psoriasis patches, acne and localised inflammatory conditions.
Every leech at Vishwaprabha is used once and only once, and the procedure is performed with full aseptic precautions and dressing.

Assessment
The doctor confirms indication, checks haemoglobin and clotting history, and marks the site.

Site preparation
The area is cleaned aseptically; no antiseptic residue is left that would repel the leech.

Application
A sterile medicinal leech is applied and allowed to attach and draw for the prescribed time.
- 04
Detachment
The leech is detached safely with turmeric powder — never pulled — and disposed of after a single use.

Dressing
Sterile dressing is applied, with clear wound-care instructions for the next 24 hours.
