About Vamana
Vamana is the first of the five Panchkarma procedures — a controlled, medically supervised therapeutic vomiting that removes excess Kapha from the stomach and respiratory tract.
It is not a casual procedure. It is preceded by several days of internal oleation with medicated ghee (Snehapana) and Swedana, so the Doshas are properly mobilised before elimination. The entire process is monitored by the doctor from start to finish.
Vamana gives excellent results in bronchial asthma, chronic allergic rhinitis, obesity, hypothyroidism, skin disorders such as psoriasis and eczema, and in PCOS where Kapha and Meda are dominant.
