Why the nose
Nasa hi Shirso Dwaram — the nose is the doorway to the head. The nasal mucosa is richly vascular and directly connected to the sinuses and the structures of the head, so medicated oil delivered here acts locally and quickly.
The main benefits
Pratimarsha Nasya — the daily version
Two drops of Anu taila in each nostril every morning is a classical daily practice suitable for almost everyone. It is remarkably effective at preventing recurrent colds and allergic rhinitis, especially for people commuting through dust and traffic in Pune.
When not to do it
Avoid Nasya during pregnancy, immediately after meals or bathing, in acute fever, and after recent nasal surgery. A full therapeutic Nasya course should always be done under supervision after examination.
