About Pizhichil
Pizhichil, historically known as the treatment of kings, combines Snehana and Swedana in a single therapy. Cloths soaked in warm medicated oil are squeezed continuously over the body while therapists massage in rhythm with the flow.
Litres of warm oil are used across a session, giving an intensity of oleation that no other therapy matches. It is exceptionally effective in rheumatoid arthritis, paralysis, neurological disorders, muscular dystrophy and severe Vata conditions.
It is also prescribed as a Rasayana for physical and nervous exhaustion, where the aim is to rebuild strength rather than remove toxins.
