About Janu Basti
Janu Basti keeps warm medicated oil over the knee joint inside a herbal dough ring, allowing sustained absorption into the joint capsule, ligaments and surrounding soft tissue.
It is the primary Ayurvedic therapy for knee osteoarthritis (Sandhigata Vata), a condition extremely common after the age of 45 and increasingly seen earlier in people with sedentary work and excess weight.
Combined with internal Rasayana medicines, weight guidance and specific strengthening, Janu Basti helps many patients regain pain-free walking and delay or avoid joint replacement.
